1978年、東京の夜間中学の日本語学級に着任。2014年3月まで約36年間、中国帰国者や外国人に日本語を教える。現在、墨田区にある自主夜間中学「えんぴつの会」や「夜間中学校と教育を語る会」などで活動。

「共に生きる会」は2024年10月に発足した会です。地域活動を継続してきたおばあちゃんたちの主催。異なる背景をもった人と場を共有し、知り合い、気付き、共に生きることを目指しています。高校生から80代のおばあちゃんまで、ゲストのお話を通じて多様なテーマを共に学んでいます。特定の思想、政治、宗教などについて語る場ではありませんので、安心してご参加ください。

Lecturer: Mr. Yasutaka Sekimoto
In 1978, Mr. Sekimoto began working in a Japanese language class at a night junior high school in Tokyo. Until March 2014, for approximately 36 years, he taught Japanese to Chinese returnees and people from overseas. He is currently involved in activities such as the volunteer night junior high school “Enpitsu no Kai” in Sumida Ward and the group “Association for Discussing Night Junior High Schools and Education.”

Those who wish to become involved in organizing or supporting the group afterward are welcome to join as members (membership fee: ¥1,000).
“Tomo ni Ikiru Kai” was established in October 2024 and is organized by elderly women who have long been engaged in local community activities. The group aims to share spaces with people from diverse backgrounds, get to know one another, gain new perspectives, and learn how to live together in society. Participants range from high school students to women in their 80s, and through talks by guest speakers, they explore a wide variety of themes together.
This is not a place for promoting any particular ideology, political views, or religion, so please feel free to join with peace of mind.
